WAGES: $17.00/HR Starting Pay
General Description:
The Facility & Maintenance Technician is responsible for the care and maintenance of Yakama Nation Land Enterprise buildings, property and equipment, as well as the grounds. Employee will also have outside consultation with the Assistant Facility & Maintenance Manager for YNLE on major projects and equipment or grounds maintenance. Must be punctual in reporting to all assigned shifts. This position is seasonal.
Duties:
Required to operate small equipment such as: mower, weed eater, automatic sprinkler system, power washer and any additional equipment required to complete a designated task.
Assisting with minor maintenance repairs, such as painting, repairing fences and cleaning exterior building exteriors
All employees must be aware of their surroundings while on the job site (sight and sound). Employees must be aware of heavy equipment and power tool use, amongst other various hazardous activities that could be in action.
Required to safely operate/load/unload/tow pieces of equipment as necessary. When towing loaded trailers, drivers must be skilled in backing up and turning the trailer in-tow.
Seasonal Maintenance employees will engage in labor-intensive duties in various, sometimes extreme (hot, cold, wet) weather conditions without restrictions. Duties require employees to stand and walk frequently for extended periods.
Employees must be able to lift 50 pounds consistently without restriction.
Required to bend or stoop repeatedly.
Must follow instructions from supervisors and be respectful to coworkers and other people who may be in the area.
Other responsibilities and duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Must have the capabilities to execute the duties listed for the position described and be willing and able to learn the functions of the position. Other education and/or experience that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.
Must be on time for every scheduled shift, no exceptions.
Must dress appropriately for the position (work boots, proper clothing, etc.)
Must have a valid Washington State Driver's License and have the ability to obtain a Yakama Nation Tribal Driver's Permit.
No felony convictions or disqualifying criminal histories.
Required to pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol test in accordance with Yakama Nation Drug/AlcohoI Policy.
